In my experience, if we are experiencing conflict or problems in our relationships, it often seems to ripple into other areas of our lives. I work to help the client find healthier boundaries in relationships while looking to strengthen relationships we wish to keep.

Anxiety is a regular occurrence in our lives, but for some of us, it seems life-encompassing. For the clients who struggle with anxiety, I work to establish healthier responses to it while looking for origins of the problem with anxiety.

I often work with teenagers and young adults who experience low self-esteem, family conflict, feelings of loneliness and general difficulty with mood. I often find that that working to help support the transition from childhood to adulthood is a challenging and fun experience as we work to build identity and establish healthier responses to their situations.

Your life. Your choice. This is an important distinction in my therapy that drives much of my work. I do not give advice or tell anyone what to do, but I do support and help to challenge assumptions that might hold us back from achieving what we hope to.

Emotional tolerance and regulation, relationship stability and health and mindful awareness are the main principles of this mode of therapy. I use the principles to guide the work I do with the client to establish a change in how we respond to the challenges and difficult situations, and ultimately increase the confidence we have in ourselves to better manage any problems that arise.

I believe that we cannot eliminate problems in life, so we must build a new relationship with the problem and find better ways of responding to them. With the values in our lives as a constant guide, my work involves helping the client find the direction that wish to be going in and identify the obstacles to moving that direction.
