About My Clients
My clients are adults seeking thoughtful, affirming virtual therapy. Many identify as LGBTQ+ and are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, identity exploration, or major life transitions. They are often interested in EMDR and value a safety-first, collaborative approach that honors their lived experience while building practical tools for healing, regulation, and long-term growth.
My Background and Approach
NW Psychotherapy, PLLC was founded by a licensed mental health counselor with over a decade of experience working with adults in community mental health and private practice settings. The practice is rooted in trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming care and was created to offer therapy that is thoughtful, respectful, and deeply human. Our approach emphasizes safety, collaboration, and pacing—especially when working with trauma. Therapy integrates EMDR, mindfulness-based techniques, CBT, solution-focused and other approaches, with strong preparation and skill building before trauma processing begins. Care is tailored to each client rather than following a one-size-fits-all model, supporting healing that feels empowering, sustainable, and aligned with each client’s goals and lived experience.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
This practice is grounded in the belief that healing happens in the context of safety, trust, and authentic human connection. People are not broken or deficient—they are responding to their experiences in ways that once helped them survive. Therapy is most effective when it honors this wisdom and moves at a pace that feels respectful and collaborative. There is a strong interest in trauma recovery, EMDR, nervous system regulation, and helping clients build a deeper sense of self-understanding and choice. The work is guided by values of LGBTQ+ affirmation, equity, body respect, and curiosity rather than judgment. Ongoing learning and reflection are central, with a commitment to providing care that is thoughtful, attuned, and responsive to each client’s lived experience.
