Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Naperville, IL

About My Clients

I work with children age 7+, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Check out the diagnoses I treat below. I support individuals in coping with relational trauma, family conflict, breakups and divorces, grief, school and workplace stress, life transitions, religious and cultural issues, caregiving challenges, chronic medical conditions, securing disability accommodations, seeking an accurate diagnosis, coping with mental health symptoms, and mental health stigma.

My Background and Approach

I hold a Masters of Arts in Counseling and Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I have experience working in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric programs and in community counseling settings. I use both talk therapy and art therapy to treat a variety of conditions. I guide my clients to express their emotions, understand their core beliefs, and learn to think differently. Concurrently, I support clients to adopt new behaviors. The most effective way to change thinking patterns starts with changing behavior patterns. Good support makes this possible. Prior to earning my MA, I worked in a variety of human services roles in southern Indiana and Chicago serving under-resourced communities. I approach client care from a holistic orientation, recognizing the inseparability of body, mind, spirit, community, culture, and environment. In a volunteer capacity , I served as the Vice President of the Depression Bipolar Alliance Heart of Chicago Chapter.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe the work we do in therapy is important, and I am committed to helping my clients reach their goals. I have seen firsthand how one individual's transformation ripples outward, creating positive change within their entire social network. We are all connected, and I am grateful to play a role in facilitating that transformation. I was raised to value service to others. I have played an active role in initiatives for environmental conservation, affordable housing, and restorative justice in my community. I hold feminist, anti-racist, decolonizing values. I also believe that it's important to be in relationship with people who think differently than I do. I welcome the opportunity to work with anyone. I believe that respect, humility, and kindness are the foundational values that make true healing possible. In my personal time, I enjoy camping and hiking, gardening, music, comedy, and community advocacy work. As an artist, I'm currently into printmaking.
