About My Clients

I work with thoughtful and creative people with a variety of concerns and identities: Depression, anxiety, or persistent emotional discomfort Challenges in intimate relationships Loneliness, isolation, or difficulty being with oneself Experiences of grief and loss Adolescents and Emerging Adults Middle Aged Adults Older Adults Divorce, breakups, and relational transitions Family conflict or the impact of complex family systems Managing the demands of high-pressure careers

My Background and Approach

You want to know why certain dynamics repeat — and how to change them. My work is thoughtful, direct, and relational. We examine how early experiences shape the way you attach, achieve, and respond under stress. As insight deepens, clients experience clearer boundaries, more stable relationships, and a stronger sense of self-trust. Therapy becomes a place where you no longer have to perform and real change can take root. Reaching out can feel unfamiliar, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own. If this resonates, you don’t need a perfect explanation. We can start with what feels most pressing. I offer a complimentary consultation to see if we’re a good fit.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I've trained and worked across a range of counseling settings in the Bay Area and completed advanced training at psychoanalytic institutes in San Francisco, New York, and Portland, OR. My approach is grounded in relational and psychodynamic therapy. I understand emotional life as shaped in relationship and within broader social and cultural contexts, and I pay close attention to how patterns develop over time—both in people’s lives and in the therapy relationship itself. My work is informed by long-standing engagement with questions of identity, power, voice, and belonging, including how experiences of race, culture, gender, sexuality, and social class influence inner life and relationships. These influences are approached not as abstractions, but as lived realities that shape how people understand themselves and others.
