About My Clients
My clients are looking for support to help manage challenging thoughts and feelings as well as find their way through life transitions or grief and loss. My most successful clients come ready to participate fully both in and out of session.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Master's Degree in Community Mental Health in 2013. I have provided support to clients both in private practice and through community mental health agencies. I help clients develop the skills and confidence to live their lives in healthy, meaningful ways. Every person’s path to their goals is different, thus we collaborate together to determine what you need to feel healthy and fulfilled in your life. I lean on a variety of counseling models, most strongly on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I pay attention to what resonates and is helpful to my clients and adapt accordingly. The strongest predictor of success for the client is the quality of the relationship built between the therapist and the client. I strive to build a trusting, supportive and non-judgmental space for my clients with every session.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that much of our challenges lie in how we deal with the thoughts and feelings we experience in our lives. Each person can learn to develop a positive relationship with their thoughts and feelings and thus make healthier, more effective decisions and take action in their lives that reflects the kind of person they want to be. A person can learn how to live their life in a meaningful way, consistent with their own values. That is the true meaning of happiness.
