Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is an integrative approach to therapy. KAP combines the expansiveness of the medicine with supportive talk therapy. KAP clients discuss their goals for treatment and how "deep" they want to go. It can be a relaxed state that allows for access and tolerance of upsetting material, or a psychedelic state that engages the inner healing wisdom of the mind. Throughout the the session, from preparation, to ingesting the medicine, to integration of insights, I am with the clients.
Humans are creatures of habit in our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Our habits are often reinforced by our environments. KAP allows for a supported time out from these habitual ways of being. In the ketamine space, we can experience new perspectives and insights.
I was trained by The Ketamine Training Center and Polaris Insight Center. I have had my own ketamine experiences. I have worked with clients with a number of presentations.
