About My Clients
My ideal client is a young adult woman who feels overwhelmed by anxiety, perfectionism, or a recent ADHD diagnosis. She’s smart, self-aware, and exhausted from trying to do everything “right.” Deep down, she wants to feel more confident, less stuck, and more connected to herself. She’s open to exploring emotions, dreams, and nervous system healing—and she’s ready to stop avoiding the hard stuff and start trusting herself. She's not looking for a quick fix—she wants something real.
My Background and Approach
I’m Annalise John, a licensed clinical social worker with a passion for making therapy feel like a deep breath for the nervous system. With a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Utah and years of experience specializing in anxiety, ADHD, and women’s mental health, I blend neuroscience, dream analysis, and emotional processing to help clients heal from the inside out. I’ve always been fascinated by how the brain works—especially when it comes to anxiety, repressed emotions, and the mind-body connection. My approach is warm, honest, and collaborative. I use nervous system education, parts work, and somatic techniques to help clients get curious about their inner world. I believe healing starts with feeling, and I’m here to help you reconnect with your intuition, release the pressure to be perfect, and build a life that actually feels good to be in.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe to be fully human—messy, complex, emotional, and empowered. As someone who left a restrictive religion and navigated her own mental health journey, I deeply value autonomy, self-trust, and the power of questioning old narratives. I’m passionate about women’s health, especially the gaps in research and care around ADHD, anxiety, and chronic stress. I provide neuroaffirming care, which means I honor the unique ways your brain works instead of trying to make you fit into a mold that wasn’t built for you. I support body liberation, reproductive rights, and LGBTQ+ affirming care. I bring humor, curiosity, and realness into my work, because healing doesn’t have to be cold or clinical. Outside of therapy, I love sharing mental health education on Instagram and connecting with people learning to unmask, slow down, and finally feel at home in their own bodies.
