My Background and Approach
I use an approach called Emotionally Focused Therapy. It’s empirically validated, with over 25 years of research, and in my view it is the most effective technique used today. It’s short-term. It's non-blaming. And most importantly, it works.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Here is what I deeply believe and hold to be true both in my life and in my work: 1. You deserve to have loving and supportive relationships that lift you up and bring you joy. 2. Your contributions in this world are vitally important and meaningful. 3. You are complete and you are enough as you are today. Yes, you heard me right. Today, right now, as you read this, you are enough. Not after you lose the weight. Not after you buy the thing. And not after your relationship improves. Today. And here is what (I believe) you’ll find if you chose me as your therapist: I am warm, kind, encouraging, honest, supportive, collaborative, a good listener, and direct. I have a very active, involved style. I am non-judgmental. I don’t play favorites (with couples). Here’s something else you should know. I’d love to work with you. I’d love to learn about your world. I’d love to hear what makes you who you are. And I’d love to help you to create the life and the relationships you long for.
