About My Clients

I see adults who are interested in a person-centered and psychodynamic approaches to therapy. I am also a trauma-informed provider who works with clients who want to explore how their identity plays out in their behaviors, relationships, and community. Work with clients who are struggling with depression and anxiety, adults with ADHD, and use a combination of art and talk therapy interventions in my sessions.

My Background and Approach

I received my master’s degree in Art Therapy from New York University in 2017. I have gained experience working in schools, hospitals, residential settings, community centers, foster care, clinics, abroad, and as a supervisor., currently working in private practice. I have collaborated with clients across the lifespan. Some additional clinical areas of interest and experience include trauma informed therapy, IFS, CBT, group art therapy, art therapy with displaced people, therapy for immigrants, Internal Family Systems, Transpersonal therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, yoga & art therapy, mindfulness, somatic experiencing, and meditation. An important aspect of my work is looking at intersectionality in the context of mental health and supporting clients in finding new ways to nurture themselves in an ever changing world.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in a holistic view of health and that includes mental health. All elements of a persons life are important factors when in the therapy space. It is not lost on me that, as a provider-my identity, including my physical presentation is an important factor when interacting with clients. Having an awareness of differences and similarities in race ethnicity, culture, identity, and the interrogation of my awareness of racism, colonization, and microaggressions have informed my identity as a therapist. This informs my acknowledgment of the therapy space as having pre-existing power dynamics with roots in western intellectual concepts that can be exclusive, cold, minimizing, limiting, and uninformed when it comes to cultural nuances outside of traditional western psychotherapeutic practice. I am committed to continual learning of new and relevant strategies to expand my practice to be more inclusive.
