About My Clients
Many of my clients have experienced trauma, including chronic trauma, and I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced domestic violence. Often, my clients have attachment wounds, or have found that their primary relationships have not met their emotional needs. In our work together, we forge a relationship in which you feel seen, heard, and cared for. Currently, I have daytime availability for teens and adults, and also offer parent-coaching.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic work is rooted in relationship, and my style is holistic, playful, and nurturing. As a social worker and drama therapist, I integrate “talk therapy” with expressive arts. At its core, drama therapy entails the use of dramatic processes to achieve therapeutic goals. Using creative interventions can help clients cultivate insight, work through challenges from a different perspective, and integrate the mind and body. Some of the other techniques I use include solutions-focused therapy, somatic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodrama, and play therapy. I have experience working with children ages two and older, adolescents, and adults.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Fostering connection and healing is a core aspect of my value system— both in my profession as a therapist, and how I engage with my family and local community. I believe that in healing parts of ourselves, we also bring healing to those we interact with and ultimately, the world.
