About My Clients
If you feel like you're stuck, like you've been trying to solve the same problem for a while - what to do with all of this anxiety? how to move on after a significant loss? how to adjust to the new school/job/child/divorce? - you don't have to go it alone. Together we can look at your current circumstances and what you want to be different. Then we'll talk deeply about the steps you can take, when you're ready, to get there.
My Background and Approach
I've been working with teens, adults and parents for over fifteen years. During that time, doing lots of training and reading and exploring, I've come to base my practice on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This evidence based practice focuses on mindfulness and learning how to move toward what you value most. The skills and practices you'll learn during our time together are ones which you'll be able to use long after you complete therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe every person can live a meaningful life. I also believe most of us know - even if we haven't put it into words - what that means; more time or energy on some things, less time or energy on others. The next steps, the "how" part is tricky sometimes, especially when we feel overwhelmed. We'll talk about how to pause, take a step back, from the immediacy of your daily life, and think more intentionally about what your next steps might be.
