About My Clients
Being alive is infinitely complicated, wonderful, embarrassing, scary, and exciting. Aliveness can mean so many different things to each person based on their past experiences of self, family, relationships, and systems. In my therapeutic practice, I hold space for this infinite variance, and the struggle to know and communicate it to others. I work to create an environment of curiosity, willingness, and respect, upholding my commitment to social justice and anti-oppressive practice.
My Background and Approach
I don’t think there is anything wrong with you! I conceptualize whatever you’re experiencing as a reasonable response to your environment and relationships. My therapeutic approach focuses on connection and building safety in therapy, so that you can integrate your mind, somatic experience, and environment. I think therapy allows you to inhabit yourself and your relationships in new ways, and to explore your emotions and desires to figure out who you are and what you really want. I work to support people through their individual process of growth and change while embracing hope, mistakes, joy, loss, humor, and confusion. Being a person is messy work, and you don’t have to do it by yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the demands of living can be overwhelming, and that "problems" are often once-adaptive, formerly necessary solutions that no longer suit the situation. I believe that whatever is motivating you to seek treatment is not your fault. I believe the human capacity to grow, heal, and change is one of the most awe-inspiring things I have ever witnessed, and I would be honored to work with you.
