About My Clients

I deeply enjoy my work as a psychotherapist. I work with clients who have experienced difficult childhoods, childhood abuse and/or neglect or who have had traumatic life experiences. I am inspired by clients' resilience to survive, and want to work in collaboration with high functioning, motivated clients who are ready to take a meaningful look at the direction of their lives and are open to growth and change.

My Background and Approach

I became a psychotherapist because I believe each individual has the power to create meaningful change in their own life. I recognize that the path to a deeper understanding of ones self can be challenging. This is why I’m here, to walk with you, you don’t have to do this alone. I use a relational style with a focus on attachment. I believe that our early first relationships and life experiences have lasting impacts on us throughout our life span. Through learning and practicing new ways of relating to ourselves and others we can alter how these experiences effect us. Because I don’t believe that one type of therapy fits all, I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy. My post graduate training and education is focused on psychoanalytic theory and psychodynamic technique. I am influenced by the work of Jacques Lacan and Melanie Klein. I currently serve as co-chair of the Education Committee for the Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe we are all worthy of health and wellness. I know that we all have struggles and problems, but they are not who we are. I know that just as there is hurt and heartache that occurs within relationship, so is repair and healing. I am LGBTQ+ and BIPOC allied. I have and continue to work on interrogating my whiteness and practice anti-racism. I am active in suicide prevention work outside of my practice, and have volunteered at Childrens Hospital, King County Crisis Line and Youthcare. Outside of work you'll find me with my nose in a book. I enjoy long walks and playing with my dog. I grew up here in the Pacific Northwest and I never tire of the natural beauty that surrounds us.
