My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in trauma therapy and relationships. Prior to building my practice, I completed my early training working with folks in their homes and communities. In these intimate settings, I witnessed firsthand the connection between the environment we grow up in and the patterns we take with us. This foundation lives at the heart of my work, guiding my belief that you are always the expert of your own care and that the cycles we find ourselves in are there for a reason. Much of my clinical work today tends to center around themes of shame, attachment anxieties, tendencies towards numbing or co-dependency as well as an emphasis on effective and healthy communication within couples. I use an integrative approach, combining methods from Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory and Internal Family Systems. My style is collaborative and relational, meaning I prioritize the strength of our relationship as the heart of our work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I pursued a degree in Social Work for a reason--I believe in seeing a person in the context of their environment. Our systems matter: the political climate, issues of race, sex, gender, religion--it's all relevant to our mental health and I make space for it in the therapy room. I am committed to creating a practice that is safe and affirming of all identities. I work with all relationship styles, am sex-work & kink affirming, LGTBQ compotent, and trans allied. I am experienced in providing WPATHs for trans folks as well as navigating FMLA for people with chronic disabilities.
