About My Clients
I work with a variety of clients. I believe that everyone has a story to tell and needs to be heard. My experience is in grief and trauma, crisis management, and family problems. I offer services online and in person to help accommodate my client's individual needs. I also use a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities. I believe that as every individual is different, their therapeutic needs are also different.
My Background and Approach
I opened The Living Grace Counseling Services in 2021. I saw a need for more affordable and accessible therapy. I have been working with grief and trauma for the past five years. In my undergraduate studies, I researched the complexity of grief and bereavement, and the lasting mental and physical implications it brings. I use art therapy along with emotion-focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help clients regain healthy emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that fundamental Christian values should be implemented in therapy sessions. It is our Creator who made us, knows us deeply, and is the Mighty Counselor and Prince of Peace. However, I know that the term "Christian Counselor" often comes with questions and concerns of judgment. My role as a counselor is not to evangelize but to support God's people. I encourage all my clients to be involved in their church or faith-based community, meditate in God’s presence through prayer, and read scripture. I view Christian counseling as a farmer who prepares the soil removing rocks and weeds for the seeds of faith to be planted or established faith to grow. The trauma, grief, heartache, and loss that people experience develop rocks and weeds that in many ways define their life experience and faith. It is my goal to help clients reconnect with themselves and their faith through therapeutic techniques and interventions.
