About My Clients
I love working with adolescents and adults while helping them to overcome a variety of mental health issues such as Anxiety disorders, OCD, BFRB, Depression, ADHD, and substance abuse. I understand and value the family dynamics as well as the cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds of my patients. While working with me you will have a chance to speak freely and openly about your biggest fears and secrets. I will teach you new skills and we practice together so you can succeed.
My Background and Approach
I have a BS in psychology and have been working as a substance abuse counselor since 2011. I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Governors State University in 2019 and have been specializing in Anxiety, OCD, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, BFRB, and ADHD. I have attended multiple IOCDF conferences and training seminars. I attended Pediatrics BTTI and regular supervision sessions to consult on difficult cases. I am well-versed in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including CBT, Habit Reversal Training, and ERP.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Having lived experience as a bilingual and bicultural person, I possess a unique understanding of the impact of culture on our experiences, self-worth, and approach to life. I am adept at helping everyone to address needs special to their situation (e.g., fears of "fitting in", other anxiety-related problems, and depression). I am here for you to understand and learn about you fully and help you the best way I can.
