I came out as queer at age 15. I was so persistent that my lesbian identity wasn't "a phase" that it was even harder to tell my family when I partnered with a cis-hetero man than when I initially came out. Then years later I vindicated the "we told you so" comments by telling them I still date women. As a result of my own immersion in the queer community I have insight into many LGBTQ issues my clients face and am always excited to learn new things if issues arise I'm not yet familiar with.

My primary focus in my therapy and coaching practice is supporting people in issues related to non-monogamy. Some common things I support my clients with aredeconstructing jealousy/insecurity to use them for growth, evaluating if non-monogamy is right for them, navigating relationships in which one partner wants to open up and the other doesn't, mediating conflict-laden metamour dynamics, crafting workable agreements, and strengthening skills for fostering healthy relationship systems.

There's a big overlap between those who are sexually adventurous enough to explore non-monogamy and those who gravitate towards kink. Both require people to let go of societal norms to make choices regarding their pursuit of pleasure on their own terms. I admire and appreciate the inherent authenticity in that and strive to help others release any shame or fears that may still be getting in their way of experiencing optimal pleasure and joy.

A core aspect of the work that I do is helping people break free of societal norms and expectations to connect most authentically with their truths about what will foster their optimal happiness. In my work I honor the core beliefs that we have a sense of agency in creating our own realities, that we each have inherent strengths & capabilities that give our existence unique purpose, and that we can thrive through our fears if we're brave enough to sincerely look at them.

I utilize evidence based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to help clients shift thoughts, feelings, and behaviors they feel aren't best serving them into ones they feel will better uplift their values, senses of purpose, and happiness in their lives.

Mindfulness is often a very effective way to foster authentic self awareness, emotional regulation skills, and the ability to foster a sense of internal calm - all of which are very valuable for attaining joyful non-monogamous dynamics.
