About My Clients
I welcome clients of all identities and backgrounds, and to show up as you are, wherever you are. Rather than focus on the surface level symptoms and quick-fixes, I am interested in working with individuals who are ready to get to the root and committed to a process that can take time, is non-linear, and requires honesty and courage.
My Background and Approach
I've worked as a mental health professional since 2011 and began working as a licensed psychotherapist in 2020. Since then I have acquired experience and training in serving individuals struggling with all challenges deeply human. I strive to first create a safe, welcoming space where you will feel heard and respected no matter what you're bringing to the table. From there I will strive to help you discover who you are as your most authentic, whole self. This requires getting curous about the patterns in your life, seeking to understand and bring care to all of the parts of who you are (including the ones who may be exiled by shame or fear), and deconstructing the many systems that influence how you see yourself, others and the world. By reflecting on how the past has shaped your present self and issues, from there I can help you unlearn what no longer serves you so that you can move through life with more clarity, peace and confidence.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I come from a perspective that everyone has trauma, whether that's from an imperfect childhood, a singular traumatic event, and/or the systemic effects of our deeply flawed society. As a result, we get stuck in "survival mode," and learn to suppress deeper wounds that are begging for our attention and care. With core values grounded in humor, authenticity, and compassion, I am here to help clients connect to their innate ability to heal, feel empowered to make meaningful change, and ultimately feel at home within themselves. I acknowledge my identity as a cisgender, white woman and the responsibility I possess in always confronting my own blind spots and am committed to an anti-discrimination, anti-oppression stance. I am also passionate about animal rights and have come to learn that the exploitation and oppression of non-human animals is interconnected to all other forms of oppression and social injusitices. This means I stand for collective liberation for all living beings.
