Relationships are complex and lets face it, hard work. Whether you are coming to therapy to reconnect or regain trust with your partner, or are wanting to find what is getting in the way of good mental health I can help you develop the tools you need to get where you want to go. The work it entails can seem like a lot, but having a professional to guide you can make all the difference in the world. Helping my clients go from surviving to thriving is what drives my practice.
My Background and Approach
I have helped hundreds of couples and individuals reclaim their relationships and their lives by offering a supportive, non-judgemental space to explore and develops the skills necessary to do just that. While we will discuss your background and what has led you to where you are today, I employ a solutions-focused approach with many of my clients. I have training in the evidence-based Gottman theory and use it to help the couples I work with rebuild communication, trust, connection and friendship. I take the side of the relationship, not an individual which allows you to dictate what you want your relationship looks like. Relationships are difficult sometimes and there is help for whatever stage you are in. Whether you just want a “tune-up” on your communication skills or you are facing harder challenges, I will meet you where you are and provide guidance and skills you can utilize to deepen your intimacy and connection.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all change with time and sometimes that change can pull us apart, but it doesn't have to stay that way. The mind is an amazing thing and we can do so much with it if we are given the right tools and guidance. Having someone that will help you find your strength and direction can mean a world of difference when you are facing the difficult challenges that life throws at you. Where you come from is important and acknowledging that is as well, but if you are stuck looking in the rear view mirror, you are bound to crash. That is why I believe it is so important to be able to grow forward with the help of someone that is both supportive but also takes an active part in your process. I'm not a therapist that will just sit and nod my head. I will challenge and encourage you will being right there with you every step of the way.
