About My Clients

You're living in survival mode - and you're over it. Work, bills, family, relationships, systemic oppression, and trying to live with authenticity amidst it all - it's too much! You feel overwhelmed, burned out, numb, and totally alone. If this sounds like you - I assure you, you are not alone. In our chaotic and unjust world, many of us live on high alert, disconnected from our bodies, our true selves, and each other.

My Background and Approach

I bring an anti-oppressive and anti-racist lens to my work, so I am a good fit for people for whom the health care strategies of the dominant culture do not resonate. I use a mindfulness-based, compassion-focused, and embodied approach to address symptoms of chronic stress like anxiety, depression, and isolation. If you choose to work with me, we will practice powerful techniques to calm the mind and body, sit with difficult emotions without feeling overwhelmed, build insight into root causes of your stress, cultivate genuine connection, and tap into fierce compassion and courageous purpose. In addition, I use the Internal Family Systems model. This model is based on the idea that we have multiple "parts" inside of us (e.g., critical parts, playful parts, impulsive parts) and by connecting with our parts with compassion, we can bring them into harmony and get unstuck. With these tools, you can find joy, connection, and balance. In short- the happy and authentic life you want!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

In addition to my clinical psychology background, I am a mindfulness meditation practitioner in the Plum Village tradition, and have training in meditation and psychotherapy, anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice, decolonizing mental health for people of color, somatic self-compassion, and somatic embodiment and nervous system regulation. I am dedicated to my own path of healing and liberation. I draw strength from my meditation community, friends, partner, daughter, family, and extremely affectionate cat (who you may see or hear if we decide to work together, as he loves to sneak into my office!) If you are a person who has had to cut yourself into pieces to survive - I can help you love all the parts of you. I believe my liberation is tied up with yours and would be honored to walk with you on your path of healing. Your inner teacher will guide the way. I can help you hear their voice.
