About My Clients
I am open to working with youth ages 10 and up, young adults, middle adults, and families. I like to work with a little bit of everything: anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, child behavioral concerns, suicidal ideation/self-harm, relationship difficulties, adjustment to life transitions, emotion regulation, grief/loss, and stress management.
My Background and Approach
I worked with adolescents and their families in a residential setting prior to transitioning to private practice. I use therapeutic approaches and interventions from Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), CBT, Family System Theory, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I see the client as the ultimate expert of themselves. I want to work with clients to identify areas of conflict or stress in the various systems that impact their day-to-day life. I trust in my clients' ability to recognize problems, consider solutions, and make changes for their lives. Going through this process helps strengthen their own skills and build confidence in addressing struggles in the future. Clients learn to see their concerns either as problems they can resolve or opportunities for growth, where they can find accomplishment through their challenges.
