About My Clients
Maybe you have been in therapy before or maybe this is your first experience. Regardless, I see clients in all stages of healing. I meet you where you’re at today and just ask that you be open to the possibilities and willing to try new tools. I love working with teenagers, parents, individuals, executives and couples. I also work with parents both married and co-parenting coming alongside them in their difficulties and heartbreak with the goal of finding true joy again.
My Background and Approach
I have been married for nearly 25 years and am a mom of three - 2 college age and 1 in junior high. I have navigated the difficulties of marriage and parenting and learned that in healing our attachment wounds and building our connections we experience more peace and harmony with those we hold most dear. I believe that the connection you have with your therapist makes all the difference in the world. In our journey together I take a very client-centered, collaborative approach to understanding and identifying your unique goals and needs. Much of my experience has been with trauma induced depression and anxiety. I am grounded in the philosophy that therapy is nurturing the beauty that is in you as you learn to overcome your trials. Along with the cognitive behavioral therapy approach, I am specifically trained in attachment-based therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma, grief therapy, Internal Family Systems and divorce/co-parenting.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a wife, a mom, a lover of live music, football and high heels. As a therapist you can also expect that I’ll be a good listener but I am not that therapist that sits quietly - it’s a conversation and if you don’t know what to say or do I will help us navigate. You’ll find that I’m going to challenge you but I won’t dictate – let’s get curious and explore those areas of your life that you want to see some changes. I’m expectant but not pushy - I want you to see results but I want you to go at your own pace. You will find I am insightful but not intrusive - I will bring observation and vision but I want you to recognize your own process for change and experience the relief of understanding in those “aha moments.” Lastly, I am a cheerleader but not unrealistic - my goal is that you see the beauty that is in you and grow authentically in the way you were designed. I will be your biggest fan and help you reach achievable goals along the way.
