About My Clients
Hi, I’m Angie. I specialize in helping folks who are navigating issues with relationships, their sense of self (queer identity, body image, religion), and managing chronic illness. It can be incredibly confusing to feel like you can’t get on board with someone else’s idea for you even if you want to. It’s crucial to learn how to listen to yourself, especially in the sea of conflicting voices. I would love to help you strengthen that skill.
My Background and Approach
I’ve personally fought like hell to trust myself, so I’m confident that this can be taught and learned. I know how challenging it can be to disagree with the authorities around you when you have not been permitted or taught how to trust the authority within yourself. I have a bachelor of science in psychology with a minor in linguistics from Liberty University, and a master of arts and clinical mental health counseling from Concordia University Irvine. I have worked in nonprofits, university clinic, community mental health and private practice settings, so I’m aware of the many complex systemic factors that affect our whole health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a white, queer, exvangelical woman. I believe there is wisdom in your body, in nature, and in one another. I reconnect to myself by getting lost in the woods, and I feel magic when I watch someone transform in front of me. I think human suffering is inevitable, and we find resilience in authentic connection with one another, and by increasing our tolerance for uncertainty.
