About My Clients

When working with clients, I aim to honor stories, identities, and experiences and create a collaborative space where you can show up authentically as yourself. A foundational part of the therapeutic process is having curiosity about yourself. Relationships and connections drive so much of our development over our lifetime. However, the relationship we often work on the least is the one with ourselves. Yet, this just might be the most important one.

My Background and Approach

I am a trained HAES and intuitive eating clinician who works with teens and adults. I have experience working with various evidence-based therapies: ACT, attachment theory, RO-DBT, MBCT, trauma-informed, IFS, Narrative, and CBT. I practice advocacy in my work and outside of it. With this, I integrate an anti-oppressive lens into all of my therapeutic work. I am here to create a collaborative therapeutic space. There is often a narrative that we need to fix our bodies, our mental health, and ourselves - "Your body is not a project to fix, it's your home." Let's nurture your home and heal your relationship with yourself. I continued my education and pursued my master's in clinical mental health counseling where I dived deep into mental health advocacy, gaining clinical experience in various settings, and conducting clinical research.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Growing up as a first-generation Mexican immigrant on a rural island in Alaska and around my family’s restaurant, relationships, and people have always been a pivotal part of my upbringing. I am a bilingual Latina who loves continuing to practice her Spanish. Outside of my work, you can find me exploring the outdoors, reading at coffee shops, cooking, and spending time with my loved ones. Advocacy: I practice advocacy in my work and outside of it. I continue to approach this as a learner, consistently aiming to further my awareness, challenge my biases, and identify systemic barriers. With this, I integrate an anti-oppressive lens into all of my therapeutic work.
