About My Clients
Over the last 20+ years, I have helped children, adolescents, and adults discover new skills and healthy coping strategies to overcome trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe that everyone has a need to be heard without judgment. As a result, I practice active listening, treating everyone with respect, dignity, sensitivity, and compassion.
My Background and Approach
The tools that I'll provide you with are tools that I have been perfecting over my career helping people just like you. My goal for you is to have a toolkit of skills and techniques that you can carry with you at all times. So, no matter where you go, you'll always have access to discreet exercises that can quickly create relief. My preferred modality is cognitive behavioral therapy. We'll work collaboratively to address your current concerns. We'll start with what's going on in the moment and how to get control over your body and thoughts. We'll address what's going on in your brain when you feel anxious and how to get in touch with different parts of your brain to find relief. We'll discuss what happens to your body when fear takes over so you can learn how to quickly calm down. You'll gain resilience to manage stressors in healthy ways.
