About My Clients
My clients typically tell me how much better they feel after one session. Rapport building is essential and I want to hear your story. My goal is for clients to feel welcomed, safe, heard, understood, and cared for. I believe in a trust-based relationship and going at your pace. I approach my clients with compassion, open-mindedness, and kindness. I want clients to feel they can learn about themselves, and feel empowered! I am very invested in helping clients achieve their goals.
My Background and Approach
With all of my diverse experiences, I have gained much insight and development into my approach to therapy. I very much like a positive and holistic approach to therapy. I think it is important to find balance in your life. I generally use a mix of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy (meaning you are in charge). I find that using multiple tools from several modalities serves clients well.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I don't believe that there is a limit to human capacity. I think the main reason we develop mental health issues is because they are unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way. Which means that I think you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones. As a child, I suffered from severe anxiety. Through my own therapy, I learned how to handle my anxiety and move past it so that it didn't have control over me. I haven't had a anxiety attack in years and I want you to feel the same freedom that I experience every day. I don't discriminate against anyone!
