About My Clients

Are you needing insight on your barriers to growth and fulfillment? Or maybe you've cultivated insight and need support with what to do with it? I work with a variety of mental health and relational concerns using a collaborative, somatic-based approach. I am passionate about helping my clients let their insights settle into their bodies and relationships so that their changes are sustainable and holistic. My clients are curious about what life beyond survival-mode is like.

My Background and Approach

I specialize in substance abuse, eating disorders, relational issues, trauma, and oppression-based difficulties. I utilize an attachment-based, relational approach to explore your struggles in the context of your personal relationships and larger social structures. You can expect our sessions to be collaborative, compassionate, and culturally-affirming. I teach somatic-based skills to help integrate our work into the rest of your nervous system. I am certified in Somatic Experiencing (SE)-- a body-based approach for healing trauma. SE integrates the fields of physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics to release compressed traumatic energy in the body slowly over time. I supplement my somatic work with interventions from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I identify as an able, cis-gender biracial female. I am guided by cultural humility and enjoy working with all people of all identities. I believe therapy should be a safe space for you to talk about and feel anything that arises at your own pace. My approach is guided by the principles of anti-oppression and social justice, so we will naturally address contextual circumstances that interfere with your sense of belonging and self-worth. I believe individuals grow through their relationships and are doing their best with the tools they have to adapt and respond to their environments. In my work, I help clients understand and appreciate the adaptations that have kept them alive, while also supporting the discovery of other options that promote choice, flexibility and empowerment.
