About My Clients

Family affected by trauma, blending, seperation and the foster care and adoption. Together we will explore your story and learn how your story has affected your ability to love the life you are in. When you are afraid, worried, and anxious and don’t know why or where the next problem is coming from it is difficult to manage daily stress. When you are hurting so badly that the pain has gone numb from being consistent it is hard to express love or trust.

My Background and Approach

I am the mother of 1 birth child, 1 stepchild, 2 adopted, and have been mom to over 30 children of hard places that I said goodbye to through foster care in just 6 years. I worked as a social worker for the state of WA, a case manager with a private foster-care agency, then finally as a program manager for two teen group homes before my clinical journey began. In each of these roles I quickly learned what you may already know, there is not enough support available to those in need. These experiences led me to know that TRAUMA is the realest pain we face in life, it affects our every moment both awake and asleep. I decided I needed to do more for my community, taking me back to graduate school to earn my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. From my education I have learned the greater impact that society is experiencing as we make room for change in our lives resulting in higher levels with depression and anxiety then ever documented and rising.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that the foundation of mental health healing is found in relationships, in our work together we will rebuild your relationships through scaffolding, remodeling, and practice. We will explore the foundation, find the cracks and mend them. Relationships are the foundation of humanity, and we all deserve ones we are willing to work for. As a therapist I have and continue to learn about the brain and trauma and how we CAN heal it. As a human in the world of tragic loss and its’ cruel expression of needs, I will work to support you in your place of need. We together will explore and learn how your brain and/ child’s brain has changed through loss and trauma.
