About My Clients
Are you unconventional in ways that makes finding a therapeutic fit hard? Need tailored sessions due to non-traditional lifestyles? Whether you want to use sessions as executive function coaching, silent brainspotting, or cathartic chats, I'll aim to make it possible. Neurodivergent, poly, & LGBTQ+ clients report the most relief, but my trauma treatment through individual & couple's counseling benefits most. Ideal clients don't exist, but your ideal future can—so when in doubt, reach out!
My Background and Approach
My style is informed by Eclectic Psychotherapy (EP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brainspotting, Rational Emotive Behavioral (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, & the Gottman Method for Trauma and Affairs. The resources you'll be provided with are from my half-decade as a crisis counselor, so you'll always know how to find the next step in any given situation. My goal is to provide a space where you can be fully yourself until you trust that you will feel understood in our sessions. My belief that growth is possible for everyone after radical acceptance of oneself and one’s circumstances motivates me to reflect upon the factors behind any unmet expectations you might have of yourself, life, or our sessions. Too often do the disillusioned give up when relief may be just around the corner; my hope is to provide you the emotional tools needed to create your own hope after figuring out which values are truly yours instead of someone else’s.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My values of egalitarianism & informed consent means our sessions will be collaborative—achieving your self-determined dreams together with whichever method works best for you. By aiming to uncover the truth past any projected opinions, you internalize your truth in a robust, resilient way that acknowledges the truths of others without betraying your own. Once one can distinguish between facts & opinions, one can differentiate between one's own opinion vs. facts about themselves & a compassionate perspective emerges. My radical acceptance stems from equally valuing the truth of fact and the truth of feeling—without prioritizing one at the expense of the other when it comes to finding solutions (instead of shortcuts). Self-awareness results from internalizing this radical self-acceptance; from that comes clarity, integrity, and agency. I am influenced by humanism, absurdism, and stoicism as well as “Man’s Search for Meaning” and “Transcend: The New Science of Self-Actualization.”
