My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate, with over 20 years of working with families in Early Childhood Education, I create a nurturing and safe environment where you can express yourself, process difficult experiences, and build positive coping skills. I work from a client centered approach and have training in multiple modalities. I have specific training and experience working with parents and children and can offer parent coaching/counseling for parents needing specific support as they begin the parenthood journey, figure out how to navigate tough toddler and teen years all they way through parenting young adults. My goal is to help you to live more authentically and to improve relationships with building your confidence in what you already do well!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As someone that has raised two children, I know how difficult "mom guilt" is to manage as the world throws so much noise out there about what it is to be a "good" parent. I believe that most parents are trying their best and with a little support will learn to trust their instincts and build emotionally intelligent homes. I work from a foundation that behavior is communication and the goal is to build connections not compliance.
