About My Clients
I work with individuals, couples, and families struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, unhealthy family dynamics, stress, and trauma. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for the treatment of trauma, as well as the Gottman Method, an evidence-based modality to treat couples. Oftentimes, we don’t know exactly what is wrong, but the struggle never seems to end. I offer a safe, compassionate space to explore those feelings in hope. I am a keeper of
My Background and Approach
My practice is called Real Talk NW, because my style of therapy is different than talking to a blank face that nods and takes notes. I am a real person who relates to my clients in a genuine way, and works collaboratively to listen, offer insights, and uncover what may be blocking the path towards healing. Little known fact: humor is not off-limits in therapy. I received my Master in Couple and Family Therapy from Antioch University in 2022 and opened my practice shortly thereafter. I work with clients both virtually and in person in my office in downtown Edmonds. I specialize in working with couples in conflict, healing after infidelity, and I have a heart for working with first responders and their families. I use an integrative approach to therapy, including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness practices, and the Gottman Method. I also offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As for me, I am married and have two young children (and a dog and two cats). I am a social justice advocate, Italian American, and love many things about this life but especially books, theater, nature, and coffee. And Frasier. I am a spiritual person and look for the innate resiliency and strengths in my clients. As someone who believes in mental health support and accessibility, I offer sliding scale spots on my caseload. Please reach out if therapy is something you want but are not able to afford.
