About My Clients

Feeling like emotions have taken over and run the show? Feeling like this world is sometimes too much to handle? Not sure who you are or want to be? Too many stressors in your life to handle? If you are a parent, are you feeling desperate to help your teen but don't know how? All these situations can make life overwhelming, and I am here to help you explore them in more depth and teach you practical skills to manage emotions, get along better with others and build the life you want.

My Background and Approach

I believe healing happens in relationship, to yourself and to your world. My priority is to develop a trusting and supportive relationship with you and then be able to walk by your side in your search for understanding and change. I use systemic lenses when working with clients thus I like exploring with you those transactions with your immediate and extended environments (family, friends, community, and country!). My approach is informed by multicultural and social justice counseling. My personal and clinical experience in mindfulness also equipped me to be present and to help you develop and discover the power of awareness. I have 10 years of experience working with teenagers, their families and adults in general assisting them in becoming more skillful in dealing with problematic emotions, interpersonal relationships and other challenging aspects of our human experience.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe we are all capable of change and capable of making this life meaningful and enjoyable. Suffering is inevitable yet we can learn how to make the best of out of it. I also believe that self-awareness is a precious tool, that, with consistent practice, will help us make better choices, find our truth, be more in touch with ourselves, and others. Social injustice is real, systems of oppressions do exist and the negative effects of such indeed affect us in so many ways. I believe that the first step to combat injustice is by naming it. Thus, I also focus on providing a safe space for Powerful Groups Targeted for Oppression to deconstruct their reality, reclaim lived experiences and find the power within.
