About My Clients
Have you been trying to grow your family and it is not going as you'd planned? Was the pregnancy, birth, or time after birth not the joyous time that others spoke about? Do you feel stress, sadness, anger, guilt, shame, or other big emotions about how things were "supposed to look"? These are normal reactions going through what you've experienced. I understand this first hand. However, you don't have to go through this alone. We will tackle all those hard emotions together.
My Background and Approach
I specialize, both through education and personal experience, with any gender or sexual orientation experiencing fertility challenges, pregnancy complications, birth trauma, nicu stays postpartum challenges, medical parenting & secondary infertility. Working with me, you are more than a diagnosis or a label. Therapy is hard work, but that doesn't mean our time together will be all business. Laughing is welcome and encouraged too! My hope is you will leave each session with techniques to use when we aren't together and feel you have a supportive environment to release any and all emotions and thoughts keeping you from your goals. My approach is to give a safe place for you to work through the multiple emotions involved. We work together to make a plan where you feel supported and empowered to live the life you deserve. I look forward to helping you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone who desires a family should have the support they need to create and maintain it, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, weight, race, ethnicity, or disability. My role is to help partners and family members of those involved in any aspect of family building, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting with the multitude of emotions associated with it. I've personally experienced fertility challenges, weight stigma, a rocky pregnancy, a nicu stay, and medical parenting. In my opinion, someone who has been through it can relate to you much more than what they've studied in a course. I'm also an animal lover who fully believes that fur babies are just a much a part of a family as the humans in it. Children or animals are welcome to join you in session. I'd love to talk with you more about how I can help you with whatever family goals you're seeking.
