In today's society, we can struggle with having low self-esteem based off the constant feedback we get from the media, social media, the Internet, and the people we are surrounded by. You are not alone in feeling low about yourself and having possible body image issues as well. We will work together to increase your self-confidence through working with various tools and techniques that will help guide you to a more peaceful, confident way of seeing yourself.

I have extensive experience working with kids, teens, and adults who are struggling on a daily basis with depression. Over the years, I have taught people of all ages how to cope with the daily anxiety and/or depression they are struggling with. I teach them how to stay in the moment with how they are feeling and overcome the daily pain they are enduring through the use of challenging the negative thoughts, identifying the triggers, and increasing mindfulness.

I am certified and have extensive training in CBT and ERP to help reduce the symptoms that anxiety causes. I work with my clients by teaching them how to "beat" the anxious and depressive thoughts that are overwhelming them. Together, we come up with solutions based on an individualized plan.

Mindfulness-based therapy helps us focus to increase our awareness of our feelings, thoughts, and actions that might get in the way of our progress. When we can be more aware we can engage with other parts of ourselves and know how to respond more effectively. I use mindfulness-based therapy with my clients to work through various issues like anxiety, depression, and everyday life stress.

I have been specifically trained in using ERP with my clients who struggle with anxiety, OCD and eating disorders. By exposing ourselves to stimuli that evoke fear we can learn therapeutic techniques to prevent the usual response that does not work. As a result we can get used to the trigger and not have the same fear response. In turn, the distress that we feel goes down.

I have been specifically trained in CBT as I work with clients who struggle with anxiety and this has been a well researched form of therapy that has high success rates. CBT focuses on changing the dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts. Through the use of CBT I work with my clients on identifying the harmful thoughts, looking at the reality of the situation, and coming up with solutions to challenge the negative thoughts.
