About My Clients

My clients come to me with a range of concerns. I see individuals and couples with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, substance use concerns, gay, lesbian and queer issues as well.

My Background and Approach

From a young age I was interested in my own thought process as well as those of others. I was curious about what led to development of painful habits, arguments, feeling states and how change happens. This interest fueled years of training to become a psychotherapist. Today I continue to learn and evolve both in my psychotherapy office and with continuing studies. I studied psychology and criminal justice at the University of North Carolina. I completed my masters in clinical social at Smith College School for Social Work, a primarily all-womens school. My approach is reflective, accepting, yet clear and direct. While I don't offer quick fixes, I have found that some relief comes from just starting to untangle our web of internal struggles.
