About My Clients
My clients have struggled for a time and are looking for a change. It could be relief of negative symptoms, building insight, working toward a better career or life, a change of attitude, to stop the use of substances, process trauma or a number of other issues. They may have tried therapy in the past, and are looking for something a bit different out of their therapist.
My Background and Approach
I've worked in residential substance abuse treatment centers, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. I built proficiencies in the treatment of addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, adjustment issues and relationship issues. After a thorough assessment, I front load clients with real coping strategies that they can use to create significant change in their daily lives. From there, I apply the appropriate strategy to work on deeper issues like trauma, addiction, or negative beliefs about self or the world. Some of the modalities I tend to use are EMDR, IFS, CBT, REBT, gestalt, mindful meditation, motivational interviewing and person centered interviewing.
