Eating can take up huge amounts of our time, whether it be thinking about calories, avoiding meals or eating meals, or worrying about our physical image. Facing this struggle and making changes can be extremely difficult, and I want to help you walk that path so you can live a life full of enjoyment of the things you love and personal appreciation of your journey.

As a man who grew up in the South, I understand the obligations and expectations that men have been given when it comes to mental and emotional expression and health. I also understand that, to experience true strength and personal health in these fields, we have to reframe what it means to be a man and to experience emotions and live our lives fully. I want to help you reach a more full and healthy understanding so you can live the life you want as a partner, father, friend, and human being.

When you have received a label like this, it can feel like a terminal diagnosis. A major part of therapeutic work through DBT is reducing and alleviating symptoms experiences along the lines of personality disorders like borderline, and by using these evidenced based techniques we can work with what you are going through to build a much brighter future that does not have to be beholden to your diagnosis.

I believe that people are not just their symptoms and struggles. You deserve respect and compassion during treatment, and your struggles are unique to you. By focusing on who you are as a person, we can develop an individualized plan that best fits you, and not just your symptoms.

I am foundationally trained in DBT, and work within Southlake Counseling's DBT program to provide evidence-based therapeutic measures that will reduce and manage things like emotional reactivity and improve regulation and experiencing, improve interpersonal effectiveness, improve personal tolerance of distressing situations, and build mastery of being present in your life as it is happening.

We are the only experts of our personal experiences. Because of this, I focus on building on your understanding of your struggles and challenges, and treat my process as guiding more so than leading. By increasing personal insight and understanding of what makes you tick, we can rebuild from the ground up with confidence and a sense of empowerment that will extend well beyond therapy.
