About My Clients

Whether you know it or not, your sexual self is the deepest and most primal part of who you are. And when it’s disrupted, it changes you. You may be here because you were harmed sexually and want to get yourself back. Or maybe it’s something else. A desire to understand that part of you on a deeper level. From Sex Workers to Survivors, Sexual Assault Awareness provides insightful compassion into areas of sexuality most don't know or talk about.

My Background and Approach

By helping you face what happened, directly and with compassion, we will work together to see how your hurts have interfered with your passions, connecting the past for you to see how it affects you now, unlink painful feelings from the memories of your past, put words to those things you cannot say, and use your strengths to build your future, bringing forth your creative spirit to find your passionate path forward. I have over 25 years’ experience working with female sexual trauma, speaking & training around the world on aspects of sexual assault that most in the field of trauma recovery don’t know about or won’t even look at. I use a combination of traditional talk therapy combined with somatic experiencing, kink practices, and methods I've developed through research to help you identify, name, and heal through your past.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

The short version is I went into this work because at a young age I saw how women are treated in the world and I wanted to be a man who made it better. For the more "official" bio... Andrew Pari is identified as the nation’s leading authority on the neuro-biological arousal mechanism in sexualized violence. Founder and Director of Sexual Assault Awareness, LLC, he is a psychotherapist with over 25 years’ experience treating survivors, including specialized populations in the sex industries and victims of trafficking. Andrew’s path is reflective of his passion and focus on “the human gaps," what is unseen and undiscussed. At 15 years old, he saw a documentary on what was then called “teen prostitution.” It opened his eyes to a part of life he knew nothing about. This was the beginning of a life dedicated to reducing harm and understanding the complexity of human sexuality.
