About My Clients

Would you like to have more satisfying, meaningful relationships with yourself and others? Are you excited about what nature has to offer for healing, supporting mindfulness and connection? I enjoy supporting individuals in exploring values, behaviors, skills, and resources that improve their overall quality of life.

My Background and Approach

I began my clinical career working in the addiction field in 2008. I furthered my education at Bastyr University and graduated with a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 2021. In addition to working with adults, I appreciated my time interning at a local adolescent inpatient facility for internet and gaming addiction. I am open to continuing working with our adolescent population, as well as couples and families. My approach to the counseling relationship draws from a number of empirically supported approaches including, Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, as well as mindfulness-based practices. Most importantly, the relationship is what ultimately determines positive outcomes. I am skilled at listening, attunement, and curiosity combined with constructive, compassionate and supportive feedback. I would describe my approach as eclectic, individualized, attuned, and holistically focused.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am working on furthering my understanding of the specific and tangible benefits of ecotherapy. Engaging with nature has been a source of positive inspiration and healing in my personal experience. Finding, understanding more deeply, and strengthening this connection improves many facets of our health, which then ripples into our surroundings. With any process, there is a pacing, and a flow; sometimes the waters are smooth and placid; while at other times intensely challenging and turbid. I look forward to bearing witness and sitting in the fire with you during the ebbs and flows of our humanity. The journey follows an intuitive, adaptive, and unscripted pathway. In the future, I will be available to provide therapeutic excursions, which includes the prospect of hiking and foraging for local seasonal edible wild plants and mushrooms, while engaging in the therapeutic process.
