About My Clients
I enjoy counseling men, women, and couples, specifically addressing a range of topics such as anxiety, depression, marriage/relationship problems, communication issues, conflict resolution, spirituality, religious abuse/trauma, and identity formation. In my counseling, I explore emotional, relational, and cognitive patterns to help people feel understood and able to navigate the problems in their lives. I work with clients of all ages, genders, cultures, and faith backgrounds.
My Background and Approach
I counsel with an integrative mindset, blending principles from emotionally-focused therapy, internal family systems, interpersonal process, attachment theory, and narrative therapy. The most important component of therapy is the relationship established between me and those I have the honor of working with. My goal is to listen to your story, unpack beliefs that are "bigger and older" than your current problems, and deconstruct problematic coping skills and relational patterns.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Every person is worthy of dignity and honor. I believe your life and your story are sacred, and deserves to be handled with care and tenderness. I believe that relationship is the DNA of healthy living, and thus my desire is that you would feel known without shame nor judgement. Let's face it – being a person is a complex experience, and you are worth the effort of unpacking the pain and difficulties of your life and beginning the work that will lead you to health and peace.
