About My Clients
Often I begin working with folks who aren't sure what they want except more from their life and relationships. Clients come to therapy because they can't make sense of their anxiety, or depression or loneliness. The feelings don't square given the life they lead. In my experience, every life is complicated. The most difficult parts of our lives-our hurts, fears, traumas-are carried alone. Therapy can be a beginning of not doing it alone.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in long-term depth oriented therapy. We will start each session by asking what you are bringing in - in that day, week, or season. Through the immediacy of the struggles and desires of daily life, we will get to know what it's like to be you, the different parts of your experience. This will also mean moving into the past, into memory and story. I work from an attachment theory lens that understands our earliest relationships as formational in how we relate to self and others as adults. I also incorporate the body and building awareness between your thinking self and your feeling-bodily self, as well as mindfulness, building a reliable sense of return to regulation within breathe and senses.
