About My Clients
The clients I treat are a very diverse group of people from various backgrounds and cultures. Before enrolling in treatment, many of my clients express feelings of frustration, being ignored, and helplessness.I want to work with clients who are motivated and are willing to explored and examineareas of their life that can be challenging.
My Background and Approach
I'm an L.C.S.W., Certified Clinical Truama Professional, EMDR Clinician, Cognitive Behavioral clinician. I was the lead clinician for the Gaston County Sheriff's Office for 17 years. I have been successfully practicing therapy for over 25 years. I use proven methods to address challenges clients identify.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that anyone can benefit from treatment if they put in the effort. My methods are direct because I do not want someone to be beholdent to a therapist for three or five years. I want them to get the treatment they need and live their lives. The number one rule is "What you put in iis what you will get out of treatment." I will ask clients to do things in-between sessions to improve the speed of treatment but also the chances of success. I'm not the therapist that will ask a client "what do you think and how do you feel" the session. I'm more proactive.
