About My Clients

I use IFS to help teens & adults suffering from anything from anxiety & depression to shame & guilt, anger & control to identity & belonging. IFS is a powerful model of therapy where the therapist guides you on a gentle journey inside to get to know all the different parts that make you you, and to build the relationship and trust between your parts and your highest, truest, wisest Self. We build your Self-energy of compassion, care, creativity, and love, and we work toward inner peace.

My Background and Approach

I have a background as a high school teacher for 8 years, before returning to school to be a student again. There, I learned how to be a counselor & therapist, and it completely changed my life. Now, I continue my passion of working with teens and adults, but I have more tools, skills, and knowledge than ever before. I completed IFS Level 1 training under the tutelage of master practitioners Kay Gardner and Kevin Davis. I use IFS with my clients because it is unlike anything else I've experienced before. It is an honor and joy to help people who come to me for support-- with all their different parts experiencing all different kinds of pain-- and show them the weekly practice of IFS: go inside, get to know your parts, and unblend, unburden, and unlock more and more of your truest, highest, wisest Self. Self-energy is what you feel when you're at peace with the world ; when you're in your happy place, or with your people; doing your favorite things. We use IFS to unleash more of that.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am gay, and have loved all my work with young people in the LGBTQ community. I am also proud of my work with young people with Autism and their families. My time as a teacher taught me to value our young people: to respect and support them, to lift them up, to guide and help. It is easy for me to see the best in them, even if they do have parts that might get them into trouble. I also value my work with adults; it takes a lot of time and energy to seek support and get it, but I always try my very best to make sure my clients are getting the help they need and deserve. I cannot speak highly enough about the model of therapy I use.
