Andrea works with clients facing challenges related to depression, anxiety, self-esteem, LGBT(Q) issues, trauma, and minority identities to increase awareness of self and identity, process and move through trauma to cultivate healing and fulfillment, improve emotional regulation and coping abilities, and improve interpersonal functioning and quality of life
My Background and Approach
Andrea approaches her clinical work through a lens that is multicultural, feminist, systemic, and trauma informed - allowing for clients respective identities and lived experience within complex social systems to be reflected throughout the entire therapeutic process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Andrea (Hall) Stachniewicz MA, Ed.M, LMHC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing specialized treatment for individual therapy. Andrea obtained her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University, and has been affiliated with institutions such as Weil Cornell Medicine, Mt. Sinai Hospital and The New York State Psychiatric Institute. Andrea is a former Queens, NY Democratic elected official and uses her platform to advocate for investment in community mental health initiatives and increasing accessibility to mental health services for the working class.
