About My Clients
Here's the truth: you don't need a presentable reason to reach out to a therapist. You don't need your pain ranked and justified before you're allowed to ask for help. If you're carrying something heavy, whether that's grief, anxiety, a relationship, or just the slow exhausting work of trying to become someone truer than who you've been performing, that's reason enough. What matters most is not the reason someone arrives, but their willingness to examine and bear witness to their lives.
My Background and Approach
I am a doctoral-level counselor licensed as an LMHCA in Washington State, practicing under supervision as I complete the requirements for full licensure. My clinical training is grounded in Liberation Psychology, which means I do not treat your struggles as purely internal problems to fix. I look at the systems, relationships, and pressures around you too, and I work collaboratively. Depending on what you need, I draw from ACT, DBT skills, IFS-informed parts work, Narrative Therapy, somatic approaches, and Nonviolent Communication. I also have training in the Gottman Method for couples work, though my caseload is centered primarily on individual therapy with neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and women clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy should never require you to shrink yourself to be understood. I am affirming of all genders, sexual orientations, relationship structures, and racial and ethnic identities, and I take an explicitly anti-oppressive stance in my work. I do not believe neurodivergence is a deficit to manage into invisibility. Outside of client work, I care about accessible mental health care and try to keep my own practice reflecting that value.
