About My Clients
I joined this profession to help people and communities break generational cycles of abuse, stress and trauma. My hope for my clients is that by the time we end therapy you have the confidence to handle your shit by any means necessary. People often experience therapy with me as conversational, grounding, relaxing, and authentic.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with the state of Massachusetts. My education, professional experience, and lived experiences have strengthened my ability to help people heal from the stress and wounding of life and its many circumstances. I am knowledgeable of interventions rooted in somatic theories, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, ACT, narrative therapy, social psychoanalysis, depth psychology, dream analysis, deconstructing, liberation-focused, and feminist ecological approaches.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist and a person I am kind, caring, humorous, political, honest, and open-minded. I believe therapy needs to be transparent. This means I will be honest with you about what I know about the history of many of these evidenced based theories and practices. I will offer evidenced based interventions as well as practice based evidence. I believe therapy is ancient medicine that has been white-washed and for many of my clients they require a deconstructed approach. A deconstructed approach centers the wisdom of nature, family, self, and spirit while building full comprehension of our social-political placement in our world. We will talk sex, politics, shame, guilt, pleasure, joy, relationships, dreams, visions, alignment, values and much, much more! My goal is to help you feel comfortable speaking on any and all of these areas as often as needed. We will not self blame, we will not judge, and we will not accept responsibility for what is not ours to carry.
