About My Clients
My goal is to work together to ensure understanding and positive changes. We build a space together that allows you to feel safe. We discuss current stressors and how they are impacting your goals. When working with couples and families, I create an environment where everyone has a voice and feels heard, while facilitating change and growth within the unit.
My Background and Approach
I believe people should have the space to be authentic and heard. I use a conversational and strength-based approach, working with people to find a path that works for them while highlighting their strengths. We work at finding solutions and strengthening communication skills. When working with military families, we work on the difficulties of deployments, moving, starting over, etc. Resilience is a word people use often when describing military families. However, it doesn't mean you have to navigate the journey alone. We work together to help fill in the gaps in communication, distance, new places, and so on. It is a world many have a hard time understanding.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Coming from a military background has allowed me to view people from a different perspective. It has educated me on different cultures, backgrounds, ideologies, etc. I believe everyone experiences situations differently, even those within the same family. We need people who will truly listen to our feelings and thoughts without having to hold back. I try and allow people to have that space. To feel fully themselves and know it is a safe place to say whatever it is that is weighing on them.
