Andrea possesses a strong passion for addressing Trauma and PTSD, Career Counseling, Anxiety, Depression, Self-esteem/Personal Growth, Life Transitions/Adjustment, Relationship Conflict, Multicultural Issues, Religion and Spirituality, Self-harm, Suicidal Ideation, and Bipolar/Mood Disorders.
My Background and Approach
When working with clients, Andrea incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) when working with clients. She has completed multiple trainings through the Linehan Institute and is a CCG Clinical Manager and a member of CCG’s comprehensive DBT team. Additionally, Andrea utilizes Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Client-Centered, Solutions Focused, Trauma-Informed, and Psychodynamic approaches. Andrea has also completed Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR) Basic Training through The Center for Excellence in EMDR. She is open to incorporating faith and spirituality in sessions if requested by the client, believing they can contribute to hope and healing. Before joining CCG, Andrea worked at a group practice catering to various professionals, including first responders, medical staff, military personnel/veterans, international humanitarian workers, law enforcement, and journalists. She also gained experience assisting individuals dealing with trauma, chronic illness, and couples' challenges.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Andrea is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland. She values the creation of a safe environment and collaboration with clients to navigate life's challenges, as she believes it is crucial for fostering hope and facilitating healing.
