About My Clients
I compare my role as therapist to one who helps people cross a large, seemingly impassible river. I provide a helping hand to guide, encourage, and maybe even teach you as you figure out the best way to get to the other side of that river. I don’t tell you what to do because that would take away your autonomy. I believe that you already have the answers within you, and you are stronger than you think you are.
My Background and Approach
There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to what truly helps people in therapy. Everyone is different, and I respect and honor all of those differences. I tailor my approach to each individual and the issues each person brings to therapy. Some of the more common approaches I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness. I like to inject a bit of dry humor into the therapy process as well. Laughter can be good for the soul.
