About My Clients
Are you existing in spaces with people all around you but you feel alone? Are you disconnected from your own body, your desires, your partner, and your community. Are you afraid to take up space in your relationships? You want more for yourself and you know its possible with a little help. I'd love to help you reconnect, honor and celebrate your whole self, working in a space where you feel fully seen and heard.
My Background and Approach
I've been a social worker in various medical settings for many years. I've learned that people thrive when they are listened to, believed and encouraged. When we can connect to our whole self including our physical body, we can live fully into the spaces we inhabit. I know that people are often disconnected from their physical selves because of trauma, stigma and societal pressures. I help individuals reconnect to themselves first, and then to the people and communities around them so they can live in their bodies without shame, limitation or doubt. I provide a supportive space for clients to figure out how they want to take up space in the world and help them work toward that goal. I believe in creating a therapeutic relationship that encourages brave choices, meaningful self care and client-directed progress.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I love the often quoted phrase from Mother Teresa, "If we have no peace it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other." I believe this in my bones. I believe we need to sit next to each other and really listen long enough to hear the stories that matter because only then will we be able to care for each other well as humans. I believe I'm always learning about what it means to carry privilege and how to live well in my physical body. I believe diet culture is insidious and the worst. I believe that connecting is my super power and that you have a super power too.
